At the train station

Purpose Partners is evolving, and we want to share this evolution with our followers and collaborators.

Mel is moving on to a new venture, and at the same time, Purpose Partners is welcoming a new partner, Fiona Malcolm (Fee). Strangely, these events are not related, only co-occurring. We have been in conversation with Fee for many months about her joining us, and Mel leaving has coincided with Fee coming. The metaphor that keeps occurring to us is that of waiting at the train station..Mel’s train is pulling out as Fee’s pulls in, and so we are simultaneously sad to see Mel go and excited at Fee’s arrival.

Mel is now working on a very exciting venture - Campfire Co-op - with several friends and collaborators of ours. See her profile on our website for more information. We miss Mel already - her attention to detail, her marketing and communications experience, her first class hosting and harvesting skills and all of the significant contributions she has made to our collective learning and growth, too many to mention, will be remembered as part of the Purpose Partners story always. We are excited about the future for Mel and her colleagues at Campfire Co-op. We will be first in line for any opportunities to work with and learn from our beloved friends and fellow practitioners at the Co-op, and will share their story and offerings as they grow.

So, Mel’s train departs, and here comes the next, with the gift that is Fee aboard. Fee’s profile can be seen here. Fee is an artist, by training and by sensibility, and brings innumerable gifts with her. Her long experience as a social work practitioner, her talent and passion for hosting and harvesting, her intelligence, wit, compassion and life experience, are already contributing to a new energy in our partnership, and we are enjoying her presence very much. In particular, Fee has a gift for the visual and written arts that we have already seen in action, and we look forward to that taking us to places we haven’t been before. Watch this space!

Change can be hard - there is sadness in letting go of what was, and we have felt that as we said goodbye to Mel. We choose to use the energy of that sadness to honour her and her choices and cheer her on her way. This has opened a space for joy as we welcome Fee in. We know all our contributions to a better world are needed, and celebrate all of them. Let’s see what new excitements, changes, learning and growth 2017 brings!
