Our stories

We asked powerful questions of each other to discover our ‘bios’. We hope our stories convey some of who we are and what has brought us to here. We have also done a lot of stuff and have some pieces of paper too! If you want to see that - you can find it on our LinkedIn profiles :)

Jane Geltch

I am drawn to the extraordinary that exists in every person, and my life has given me plenty of opportunities to experience that - much of it from people who live on the margins, and from living there myself at times. These are the places of possibility and learnīng and growth, and I hope to make the most of them.

I care about people, and our planet. Humans, as a group, seem deeply disconnected from what matters, yet every day I meet extraordinary individuals or groups who are seeking or who have found connection. I want to learn and practice the compassion I think we need to live in harmony, with each other and the Earth, and hold space for others to also. I care about living my purpose, and others being able to live theirs.

I am a skilled, and always-learning, participatory process host and steward of the Art of Hosting Conversations that Matter. My favourite work is in the fire of co-creation, hosting and participating with people who are seeking wise solutions to complex problems.

I am developing my skill in partnership brokering and complexity practice, and in self-managed (Teal) organisations. I am a student of the new paradigms and ideas emerging as the world shifts to a more connected, compassionate future. Weaving these threads together is giving my practice increasing richness, depth and adaptability.

I have worked at the coalface of service delivery and in leadership roles in a variety of contexts. I have experience in policy development, organisational change and community service provision, particularly mental health and disability.

My life experience has gifted me with the clarity that growth, courage and compassion are the keys to a meaningful life.

I am on a path of deepening practice, learning, and rich experience, and I am grateful to be here.

FIONA MALCOLM

I am a passionate and committed creative social work practitioner who has worked across the community sector for nearly 15 years.

I have a strong foundation in community development practice and process that guides my approach to work at an individual, group and community level. At the centre of this practice is a belief in the power of intentional relationships; seeking them out, nurturing them, committing to them, and connecting them between people.

I love crafting opportunities for all voices to be heard, in the spaces that are important to them, and particularly for those who are impacted the most by policy and programs.

I am an artist and am currently practicing how to elevate my creativity so that everything I undertake in life and work is inspired. I strongly believe that in times of major social disruption we need the poets, the writers, the artists and the musicians, to process, challenge and inspire us.

I care about the world that we inhabit, I am conscious of my impact upon it, and choose hope and healing over ‘hands in the air helplessness’.

I am a practitioner of the Art of Hosting and Harvesting conversations that matter and am constantly surprised by the power of good process, design and hosting to generate positive relationships, connection and outcomes that are owned by everyone.

I am energized by diversity and complexity; I value curiosity, experimentation and authenticity.

I am grateful.
